This month, we are excited to feature Roycie Gaines in our Realtor Partner Spotlight. Roycie serves the Dallas-Fort Worth area with the Kimberly Davis Group at Keller Williams Legacy DPR and has been working in real estate for five years.
Before becoming a REALTOR®, Roycie built more than 30 years of experience in business, accounting, consulting, education, and project management. Today, she brings that experience to helping clients understand their options and make informed decisions, particularly first-time homebuyers and families relocating to North Texas.
Roycie has been a valued partner of The Home Inspectors for two years, and we appreciate the trust she places in our team. In this spotlight, she shares what led her into real estate, what she values most about serving clients, and why strong partnerships matter.
My connection to real estate started with my mother. She strongly believed in the importance of homeownership. When I was 21 and told her I was ready to move out and get an apartment, she simply said, “No, you’re going to buy a house.” She helped me find my first home, make the necessary repairs, and experience the pride and freedom that came with owning something of my own.
Years later, I was searching for a larger home so my mother, who was experiencing health issues, could live with my family. I found the perfect house and told my agent I wanted to make an offer, but he was leaving town and suggested we wait until he returned. By the time we reconnected, the home had accepted another offer. My mother passed away before I had another opportunity to find that home for her.
That experience stayed with me. I kept thinking, “What if I’d had an agent who understood how important that moment was to me?” A few years after my mother passed, I began studying for my real estate license. Today, I strive to be the kind of REALTOR® I needed then—responsive, dedicated, and someone who understands that for my clients, it’s never just a house. There’s often a much bigger story behind it.
My favorite thing about being a REALTOR® is helping people accomplish their goals. I especially love educating my clients so they understand the process, know their options, and feel confident in the decisions they’re making. Whether it’s helping someone purchase their first home, relocate, or take the next step toward building wealth through real estate, being able to guide them from “I don’t know if I can do this” to “I did it!” is incredibly rewarding.
Outside of real estate, I love traveling, reading, golfing, and scrapbooking. I’m a creative person at heart, so scrapbooking gives me an opportunity to relax and create. Most importantly, I enjoy spending quality time with my husband and my 11-year-old grandson. Whether we’re traveling, trying something new, or simply spending time together at home, family time is always at the top of my list.
My biggest piece of advice is to focus on building relationships, not just closing transactions. Real estate is a people business, and your reputation will become one of your greatest assets. Educate yourself, be consistent, follow up, and genuinely care about the people you serve. You may not see immediate results, but every conversation and connection is an opportunity to build trust. If you focus on serving people well, the business will follow.
My biggest piece of advice is don’t try to navigate the process alone, and don’t make assumptions about what is or isn’t possible. Real estate is not one-size-fits-all. Whether you’re buying or selling, surround yourself with knowledgeable professionals, ask questions, understand your options, and make decisions based on your goals—not just what you hear on social media or from friends and family. The right REALTOR® will educate you, advocate for you, and help you develop a strategy that makes sense for your unique situation.
I chose to partner with The Home Inspectors because I want my clients surrounded by professionals who care about them as much as I do. Buying a home is a major investment, and a thorough inspection is an important part of helping buyers make informed, confident decisions. I value partners who are knowledgeable, dependable, communicate well, and take the time to educate my clients—not just complete a service. The Home Inspectors aligns with the level of care and professionalism I want my clients to experience throughout the entire homebuying process.
My favorite thing about our partnership is knowing that when I refer my clients to The Home Inspectors, they’re going to be taken care of. I appreciate the professionalism, communication, and commitment to educating my clients throughout the inspection process. It gives me peace of mind to have a trusted partner who helps me provide the level of service and care I want every client to receive.
I would tell other REALTORS® that your partners are an extension of your business, so choose them carefully. When you refer a client to someone, their experience reflects on you as well. The Home Inspectors has been a reliable and professional partner that I feel confident recommending to my clients. Having a team you can trust makes the process smoother for everyone—and allows you to focus on taking great care of your clients.
