This month, we had the opportunity to chat with Marti Tona, an established Real Estate Advisor with Better Homes and Gardens Real Estate and valued realtor partner of The Home Inspectors. She shared her background, advice for new Realtors and buyers, and why she chooses to partner with The Home Inspectors.

I am a Rockwall resident, but I service clients all over the DFW Metroplex. From Greenville to Granbury and anywhere in between, I’ve helped my clients buy and sell homes over the last four years.
I was an Executive on Wall Street for over 20 years before retiring from the industry. After a short break, I decided I wanted to be my own boss. Since I was previously in sales and enjoyed working with people Real Estate made sense. I attended Real Estate School and passed my State and National test in August of 2016.
My favorite thing about being a Realtor is by far getting to meet some awesome people. From people moving to Texas, moving out of state or helping our Veterans, I am truly blessed to have had the opportunity to help each client.
Watching my two grandchildren play sports. Between the two of them they play football, baseball, volleyball, softball, basketball and run track…that’s enough keep me busy in my spare time.
Don’t get fixated on joining a company for their “big name”. Make sure they offer proper training and support with low monthly fees. I made this mistake straight out of Real Estate School. A smaller company might be more suitable for a new agent instead of getting lost in a company with hundreds of agents per office.
Do your homework. Find an agent who will work hard FOR you. Read the agent’s reviews. Make sure he/she is available to help. Ask for previous listings to see the quality of photos and detail they put into each listing. Photos are a huge piece of this busy industry, so make sure they have a reputable photographer on standby.
The Home Inspectors always goes above and beyond to make sure my clients have a complete understanding of any findings. Their inspections are thorough and the detail they provide in the Report Folder is top-notch. Not only does my client receive a hardcopy, an email version they also receive all reports on a flash drive. By the time you leave your inspection the email version is already in your inbox. There is no delay in receiving your report. The Termite Inspection is included in the Inspection Fee and not a separate charge. Every inspector I’ve ever been assigned has been professional, courteous and most importantly knowledgeable.
One of my favorite things about The Home Inspectors is that they are always reliable.
I’ve tried other inspectors and hands down The Home Inspectors are above all others. The promptness of receiving the reports are critical since the Option Period window is usually 7 days or less. You have immediate access to the report and can get the amendment submitted stat. You will not be disappointed with this group of professionals.
